Orders

The past two months every weekend I have had at least one cookie/cupcake order! I have loved getting to try out a lot of new designs. Plus, I'm raising a lot of money for a good cause!! In 2013 our church is going to Kenya for a mission trip, and of course Kristoffer and I are not going to be able to go (2 newborns + 1 toddler + 1 preschooler = no leaving the country!), but I wanted to do something to help out. Our church has challenged us all to use our talents to support the trip, so I am doing "Cookies for Kenya"....50% of all my proceeds will be donated! My goal is to raise $300, and so far I am about a third of the way there!

Kristoffer is a part of the fellowship branch at church, and they were planning a country sweetheart dinner. I volunteered to make some cookies as party favors for them.

My business is branching out and spreading to new people, that I don't even know (but of course know Kristoffer and fam!)! I know a lot of people that work at the school and the word has spread there, so I got an email from woman at the school who wanted to place an order for her grandson's second birthday. She sent me a copy of the invitations and decorations and I did my best to copy them.

A dear friend from church asked me a to make some cookies for a client she works with, who's father is going into the Army. This family has had a rough life, and the dad is trying to make it better for his young family. They don't know the Lord and don't often have people do nice things for them, my friend was hoping with this gift they would come to know the love of Christ.

I was happy to try out the camo technique, because I have a big order of camo coming up this weekend.

Last week our church family grew, when two of our members welcomed a beautiful baby boy into their family! They have a four year old little girl, who was excited to be a big sister, and they made her a "big sister" basket for when he was born. They asked me to make some cookies to include in her basket.

This last order was placed because of word of mouth. Someone in our church family runs a catering business at a local golf course and asked me to do the cookies and cupcakes for a wedding shower she was doing.

The rings were fun to make. The icing was actually a light gray that I "blinged" up with some luster dust. The details on the diamond are also sparkly, but it is hard to tell in the picture.

Lemon cupcakes with lemon cream cheese frosting....YUM!!! These were a new recipe and turned out amazing!!

Our kitchen has been busy and is rarely completely clean of cookie stuff, but a lot of cute things are coming out of it!!

Easter 2012

Our Easter was really exciting this year! Karter understands the true meaning of Easter, and loved the idea of waking up to a basket full of presents. After we set out our baskets and eggs for the Easter Bunny, Karter decided that we should leave him a note.

"Dear Easter Bunny,
We have a lot of eggs. We have some big ones. We hope you have a lot of candy.
Please hide the eggs."

In the morning we woke up to eggs EVERYWHERE!!

The boys baskets had been filled and the Easter Bunny even ate half the carrot we left for him.

Karter loved the new car movie cars.

So did Kado! After he saw one car, he was done with the basket!!

After 10 tries, this is the best face Karter would give me!

After seeing everything in their baskets, it was time to hunt some eggs. Karter was going as fast as he could, getting as many as he could!

Of course, Kaden was a different story.

"Mama, there sumpin (something) in it!"

Not one to waste time, he had to open his egg immediately and devour the contents!

Kaden did manage to find a few other eggs....and eat them just as quickly.

After both boys were full of sugar it was time to change into our Sunday best and head to church. For the early service, our very own Kristoffer gave the message!! He did a fantastic job and I was so proud of him!! We had a great morning at church and then headed over to Kristoffer's grandparents house for an Easter lunch.

When we got home, the boys (Kristoffer included) were eager to try out Karter's new kite.

It was a pretty windy day, so we didn't really have to do anything but stand there and watch!

Music to My Ears

This morning, while the boys had a play-date with Gramaw, I went to my OB appointment in Anderson. Before every appointment I get real anxious...just nervous and excited to make sure everything is developing properly. The appointment started out good with me losing 2 pounds since my last appointment. Making my total -2 lbs so far. Since everything that I have read says I will gain at least 50, it was good to not start off with a huge gain! My new doctor is totally awesome and spent a lot of time answering all of my questions. And then the best part...hearing the heartbeats!!! Both babies had perfectly strong, beautiful heartbeats! It was music to this mama's ears! :) Now I just have to wait 4 weeks to hear it again!

Double Blessing

Kristoffer and I aren't much of gift givers for Valentine's Day, and this year we decided we weren't going to get each other anything. Instead, we were going to have a dinner at home with the boys...and our annual brownie with raspberries!

Although I didn't actually purchase anything, I did give Kristoffer (and myself!) and little gift...

I had found out the day before, but decided to wait and tell Kristoffer the morning of Valentine's Day. He was quite surprised that I was able to keep it quiet for the day!

That day was quite emotional, because that morning Rascal got very sick...and that didn't end too well. Our emotions were all over the place, but we had a little celebration that night...

...Kristoffer ate off the "Special Day" plate that night celebrating baby #3!

My new clinic wants all new OB patients to meet with a nurse when you first get a positive test to do initial blood work and set up future appointments. Since I had a previous c-section, they required an ultrasound to determine my exact due date. Our ultrasound was last week, and boy did we get a surprise...

...TWINS!!! We are expecting baby #3 & #4!!! I was in total shock with the tech said twins and I keep staring at the picture above in amazement! What a blessing to our family these precious two babies are going to be!

Finding out about the twins have really explained a lot, especially the fact that I feel COMPLETELY different than I did with either of the boys. I have been tired and/or sick just about every day since I found out. My doctor was at her desk after my ultrasound and she spent a few minutes talking to me about it, and she said that it was completely normal since my hormones are more than doubled right now with the babies.

It is hard to imagine how our lives are going to change in October, but we are so excited about adding 2 more beautiful babies to our family!!!

My 29th Birthday

Is it lame to post about your own birthday!? If you said yes, then you can stop reading now and miss out on some super cute pics of my boys! And for being my birthday, there is only one picture of me included in the post!

On Saturday, the boys and I took Kristoffer into work and ran some errands until he was finished. We had plans to go to Benihana for lunch, but they didn't open until 12:30, so we made a quick stop at the Keystone mall to kill some time. When we pulled into the parking garage and got Kaden out of his car seat he was soaking wet. We have been potty training him for a couple of months now and does so well that we are brave enough to take him out in public in big boy undies. We Kristoffer had thought to bring a change of pants, ya know, just in case! Well good thing he did! However, we did not bring a different shirt for him, and crazy man managed to get his shirt soaked in the accident too! We decided to put his coat on and buy him a new shirt at the mall. We weren't exactly in a kid friendly portion of the mall and ducked into the first store we saw that sold children's clothes, Hanna Andersson. A super trendy kids store, we tried to find a clearance rack, but couldn't find one. So trying not to look like we were looking for the cheapest thing, we looked for the cheapest shirt we could find....for $23!!! When I was checking out the saleswoman asked if I wanted to get the boys matching shirts...um, no...I am not paying $46 for two PLAIN t-shirts! To make matters worse, when I went to change Kaden, Kristoffer walked around the corner and found a Gymboree....we could have bought a plain t-shirt for 5 bucks there!

Always an adventure!

With that adventure behind us we walked to the restaraunt. The boys kept saying how excited they were to eat there. Kristoffer had showed them a video of how they cook the food on the iPad, so they were excited for the show to start.

Kaden has this ability to fall asleep while he is eating. I looked at him one minutre....

...and the next minute he was asleep!

We were seated at a table with another family and it was the mom's birthday too. The two of us had to stand up and dance while they sang happy birthday to us.
