What a Weekend!

We started out this weekend without any plans and wanted to do something spontaneous! So in the morning Kristoffer and Karter went to get the oil changed in the Tracker while Kado and I played at home...wild and cray, I know!

In the afternoon we decided to head to downtown St. Paul and walk around the famous Grand Ave. It is a trendy part of St. Paul and has a lot of cute kiddie boutiques.

But if you know us, we are all about the places to eat!! So of course when Kristoffer read online about the Grand Ole Creamery, we had to stop and get some. Hands down probably some of the best ice cream. I had cookie dough and there was probably 3-4 pieces of cookie dough in every bite!!

After browsing the shops we made our way to the end of the street and to our final destination, the original Green Mill.

We walked back to the van on Summit Ave, which is filled with lots of old Victorian homes. The street is famous because it is where F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote The Great Gatsby. We also discovered that the Governor's Mansion was on this street. It was pretty neat to see how "the other half" lives!

The weather on Sunday was perfect!! After Kristoffer mowed the yard and we all enjoyed a long afternoon nap, we decided to eat dinner in the backyard.

While we waited for Kristoffer to bring everything outside we had fun playing...

...and watching the airplanes fly by!

Even Kaden ate his dinner outside!
After we filled our bellies, we did some gymnastics....

Then it was time for the acrobatic portion of the evening....

We had so much fun hanging out as a family this weekend, and are already looking forward to this coming weekend when we go camping for 3 days!

Sweet Potato

We started Kaden on solids last week and boy does he enjoy eating...in case you couldn't tell by his chubby 100th percentile little body! We are introducing them slowly to make sure he doesn't have a reaction, and so far he has had peas (with mixed reactions), green beans, carrots, pears, apples and last night he had sweet potatoes. I mix 1/2 a container of food with 3 scoops of cereal and few ounces of mommy's milk, but I always give him a few bites of the food straight for him to get used to the flavors. Usually, after a few bites he is ready to have it mixed with cereal, but last night he ate an entire jar of sweet potatoes without them being mixed with anything. I think Kaden has a new favorite food!!

Breakfast Club

This post is per Karter's request. When we were having breakfast this morning he demanded requested that I take pictures of "Karter and baby brother" and then he wanted to put them immediately on the computer. I think we have a future blogger on our hands!

Wordless Wednesday - Beach Style

An alternate title could be "A LOT of beach pictures!" Last week my photograph loving mother in-law sent me a CD with some of her pictures from our fantastic week at the beach. I went through the 824 pictures she sent and tried to narrow it down...here are some of my favorites!

Thank you for sharing your pictures Terry! It was really hard to narrow them down...I just loved them all!!
