Sharing is Caring
Karter is so generous! Lately, he has been very willing to share, anything from his toys, random pieces of lint from the floor or his half chewed up food. Some of his gifts are nicer than others! His favorite thing to do is to have you sit on the floor next to him and for him to hand you, one by one, every toy out of his box or every book. We are sure to say Thank You every time he hands us something. It really is quite cute!

Messy Eater!
Watching Karter eat is quite funny! At the end of every meal he has to get scrubbed down. There is always food ALL over his face, behind his ears and in his hair. He loves to make the mess, but hates to be wiped down.
This is him actually eating a little better than usual. Usually, he grabs a piece of food with his big hand and tries to shove the whole thing in his mouth. And don't even think about helping Mr. Independent out, he can do it himself!
He's a great eater! On today's menu...vegetable soup (minus the soup, he just eats the veggies), hummus with a little pita, applesauce, a few puffs and of course milk. I think he would have eaten more if I hadn't of cut him off....but he had eaten a lot of food already.
Check out that tooth!! It is probably half of the way in and the one next to it is ready to poke through at anytime.
Hey Karter, you have a little something on your face! I love my messy boy!

Playing Outside
Karter LOVES to be outside. Everyday, as soon as he wakes up from his morning nap, he crawls to the window and stares outside. I can see him longing to play outside, so everday we grab Rasc and head out to the front yard. He crawls around and plays with his toys, and occasionally tries to eat a rock or two. It has been so warm this week that today Karter wore shorts for the first time. Unfortunately for him, he has my very pale skin tone, so his legs could blind you! Of course, I took the opportunity to have an impromptu photo shoot documenting Karter's first time wearing shorts this season. Enjoy!

Karter & Henry Fun
On Saturday we hosted a cookout with our friends, Mark & Katie and Nick & Ali and their son Henry. It was great to have everyone over, and a lot of fun to watch the two boys to play. Karter and Henry had to check each other out at first, but they quickly warmed up to each other!
It was cute to watch them swing together. This was Henry's first time on a swing, and after awhile he warmed up to and was having a good time!
Henry and Karter took a little time out of their swinging time to pose for a picture on the slide. And of course...they didn't want to look at the camera!
After our walk, we came back inside for a little homemade ice cream. Then it was time for the boys to show each other a few things. Karter showed Henry all the cool spots on his books...

10 Month Well-baby
The doctor confirmed what we already knew...Karter is a thriving little boy! As soon as the wonderful Dr. McKenzie came into the room, she commented on how big and OLD Karter looked. She was impressed by his development and also noticed that he is in fact all boy....he destroyed the paper lining on the exam table. We got the all clear to go ahead and start introducing him to whole milk...pretty exciting for mama! Here were his stats for today...22lbs (62%) and 32inches long (95%). He has only gained 3lbs since our last visit, so his percentage went down, but she wasn't concerned because he is so active and it is normal for babies to not gain as much once the start moving more. Last night we were guessing his weight and we both guessed over 25, but then commented that it was probably less because his legs are getting skinny! It was a quick and pleasant visit...we got out without any shots today!

10 Month Photo Shoot
Happy 10 Months!
Today Karter is 10 months old! This picture is from a couple of weeks ago, but shows the story of our life lately...destruction! We had to put cabinet locks on all the cabinets in the kitchen, because Karter would go in them and pull everything out. He would usually do this while I was cooking, because I wasn't paying any attention to him! It is a beautiful day here and we will be heading outside for a ten month photo shoot when Karter wakes up from his nap. I didn't know if I would have time after that to post the pictures, so I used an old one! If there is anything I have learned in the last 10 months, i is definitely to do things while he is napping!
Here is a little run down of what Karterman is into these days....
Here is a little run down of what Karterman is into these days....
- Crawling, pulling up, cruising, climbing stairs...all in a days work for our little guy. He is finally actually crawling on all fours....like a real boy we say. He will crawl that way about 85% of the time, the other 15% he will still army crawl because he thinks it is faster. He can also cruise REALLY well. If he has things to hold onto he can walk just about anywhere. He will be taking off on his own before we know it!
- We just about have him completely transitioned to table foods. He absolutely HATES it if we try to feed him something...he is very independent (which is good!). The only meal he will still let me feed him is his breakfast, he is probably still tired so he doesn't know what's going on! He eats 3 good meals a day with a snack in the afternoon. He is down to only getting 2 bottles a day, and the rest of his bm goes into a sippy cup.
- As of last week, he is finally teething, and he doesn't like it one bit! His bottom two teeth are ready to pop through at any moment. We have had a couple of complete fuss bucket days, but he seems to be getting better at managing the pain.
- He still sleeps great! Once the time changed, we pushed his bedtime back to around 8-8:30, because we couldn't see putting him to bed when it was still light out. So now, he sleeps from about 8:30-7:30 and gets two naps during the day.
- Karter is a mover and a shaker...he loves to dance! Anytime he hears music he bobs up and down. Today at Target he was dancing as we walked down the aisle...super cute!
- Karter is now a book worm. He loves for us to read to him and will even stand at the coffee table and "read" to himself. He is way past the chewing on books phase!
- Changing his diaper or clothes is nearly impossible without some sort of distraction.
- He s very vocal, mainly with different noises he can make with his mouth and tongue, but he can also ba-ba, da-da and ma-ma...still not sure he knows the meaning of what he's saying.
- Karter can also wave...and gets super proud of himself when he waves at people. He is quite the flirt when we go to the store, he waves at everyone and talks to the cashiers.
- He still doesn't like wearing socks, but Grandma Terry bought him some cute shoes and he can't pull them off! Now, his socks have to stay on!!
- He is currently wearing size 4 diapers and 12-18month clothes. We go to the doctor tomorrow, so we will finally have some stats on him!
