MN Landscape Arboretum

On Saturday we took advantage of the museum pass program through the library, and went to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. It is about an hour away, up in Chaska, so we made an afternoon of it and packed a picnic lunch. After filling our bellies, or people watching in Karter's case, we put Karterman in the backpack carrier and followed our fearless leader! Kristoffer LOVES maps, not necessarily to use them in case we get lost, but to have to see what all there is. So he was pretty pumped when they handed him the map...I don't even bother looking at it!

I took advantage of the beautiful weather and surroundings and tried out some different settings on the camera. It was fun to venture off of the "auto" setting and get some decent shots. I also really liked playing around with my other lens. Here are a few of the shots I got...

My first blurry background!

It was awesome...there were purple flowers everywhere!

The MN state flower - the lady slipper.

Bees everywhere!

This bumblebee was huge!

Karter thought these flowers were so pretty he wanted to eat them.

All in all it was a fun trip, but we were glad we didn't have to pay. We didn't think that it was worth the $7 admission fee. Our little man was quite the trooper, he has a couple more teeth coming in so he wasn't in the best of moods.

Wonderful bokeh, Dana (that's what the blurry background is called!)!
Looks like a fun family outing. Karter's giving Kristoffer his workout, isn't he?

Only one more week...can't wait!!!

Pretty pictures! One of my patients told me this week that MN's state bird was the mosquito! Is that true?!
