Kaden is one month old today! As you can tell by the picture, he is filling out a lot and busting out of his newborn clothes! The past month has gone by very quickly and it seems that we have easily fallen into a routine with our two boys. It takes us a bit longer to get ready and out the door, but we have successfully eaten out 3 times, had a big family outing to downtown Mpls and gone to church 3 times (and been early each time!). Here are some things that Kaden has been up to during his first month....
- Kaden is a great eater and I am happy to say that I have been able to successfully nurse him! He eats about every 3-4 hours during the day and at night he has gone as long as 8 hours without eating.
- Kaden is a good sleeper and has learned how to sleep through all of his brother's craziness! He is typically awake for awhile in the morning before napping around 10, will wake up to eat around noon and then nap for a 3-4 hours before waking up to eat again. After that feeding he will usually stay awake until dad comes home. We have been blessed with another great night sleeper too! The first couple of days we were home from the hospital we were up 2-3 times a night, but for the past 3 weeks I only get up once somewhere between 3-4am to feed him and then he is right back to sleep!
- Most of Kaden's alert time is spent staring at Karter. If he hears Karter he will turn his head to try to see where he is, he is always trying to keep an eye on him...and I don't blame him! He also doesn't mind doing tummy time (especially when Karter does it too) and spending time in the swing.
- During labor Dr. TT tried to use a vacuum to help me push Kaden out, and since I ended up having a c-section, obviously it didn't work. It actually popped off of his head (which it isn't suppose to do) and took off the skin where it was attached. It left his poor head pretty sore and scabbed for awhile, but now it is completely healed and you can't even tell where it was.
It has been a great month as a family of four, we are so blessed to have our two sons!
Happy One Month, Kaden!!
